## About this style

Thin splints alternate over and under into open curved surfaces, finished by bound rims. Denser woven regions and dark interiors shape the volume, with strip direction determining the tension of the silhouette.

Open plaiting forms curved surfaces through alternating strips, with spacing changing toward bound edges.

A basket shoulder tightening from open holes into a dense rim can reveal both volume and tension.

### How the style changes different subjects

- **Portrait**: Interlaced strips simplify features while openings and weave direction define volume.

- **Landscape**: Woven shells rebuild scenery through bright outer strips and dark interiors.

- **Object**: Objects resemble basket forms with visible rims, turns and gaps.

**Subjects**: Choose rounded vessels, animals, busts or arches with continuous curves for the woven structure.

## Reusable style prompt

```text
Build every volume from fine, flat, dyed split-cane strips with unmistakable alternating over-under plaiting. Open diagonal woven shells enclose dark interiors. Adjust weave density to the contours, with bound rims at turns and edges and narrower strips for precise details. Echo the original palette and establish tangible basket-built volume through open spaces, strip thickness and fine cast shadows.
